Our highly-curated catalog of human-composed music is crafted specifically for video professionals. Our goal is to help you do your best work, so we don’t settle for mediocre music.
From underscore tracks for interviews to cinematic scores for high-impact storytelling, our catalog draws inspiration from the soundtracks of high-end film and television. Our instrumental music is tasteful and versatile: we strive to compose tracks that are emotionally resonant, thoughtfully structured, and just plain fun to edit to.
But we don’t stop there. We also work hard to provide thoughtful touches that help you get results faster. Every track in our catalog comes with extra versions (e.g. Alt Mixes, Stems) to help you customize. Every track also provides stylistically-compatible Sound Effect pairings and displays “highlights” (lightning bolt buttons) that identify the best parts of the track. And, our “Find Similar Tracks” button helps you find the perfect fit for your current project.
Music tracks must be “synchronized” into a video or podcast project with other media and may not be used on their own.
Your own projects and projects for clients are covered (subject to client size limits).
All memberships cover social media, marketing websites, podcasts, and YouTube monetization.
Web advertising such as Meta and Google ads are covered, but you’ll need to purchase an Extended License for streaming ads or TV ads.
Large clients, streaming (Netflix, Hulu, etc), broadcast, theatrical, etc require an extended license.
Music tracks must be “synchronized” into a video or podcast project with other media and may not be used on their own. Assets may not be used to create new musical works.
Examples of things you cannot do:
Make music with our assets or sing over our tracks
Incorporate our music into any sort of product or app
Upload our music to Spotify, Apple Music, etc.
Upload our music by itself to YouTube, Facebook, etc.
Yes! Upload to YouTube with confidence. We’ll never mute a Member’s video or have it removed.
Our assets are registered with YouTube’s Content ID system and YouTube will notify you that it has detected copyrighted music in your video. But don’t worry: this has no negative effect on your video or channel.
If you want to monetize your channel, simply connect your YouTube channel to your Lens Distortions account to pre-clear the channel for use with our assets.
Alternatively, you can create singe-use license codes to include when uploading your video in lieu of registering your channel. This option is great for clients you don’t work with on an ongoing basis.
Rest assured, videos cleared while your membership is active remain cleared forever.
Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Vimeo, etc are already cleared and do not currently require you to register your account or use License Codes.
If you have a project that exceeds the scope of what your membership allows, you can purchase an extended license to upgrade that specific project for wider placements/distribution.
You can use these free instrumental music tracks in personal projects as a way to try out our catalog. You can even use the free tracks as background music for YouTube videos, but you will need to start a paid membership in order to monetize on YouTube.
Your free account also allows you to download watermarked previews of any track in our catalog to test out in your projects before subscribing.
